What Do Historians Do: Twitter

Asks who? Well our very own Chetan Bhagat. (Un) Arguably the dumbest IITian ever, Chetan Bhagat appears to be a sucker for fame and limelight. Or was he trying to please Mr. Modi? What happened was historians in India including the respectable Romila Thapar and Irfan Habib raised their concernj over the recent communal violence in Dadri and elsewhere in a joint statement. The statement released by them says “Differences of opinion are being sought to be settled by using physical violence. Arguments are met not with counter arguments but with bullets.”

Chetan Bhagat wants to know what exactly historians do and Twitter is quick to tell him

So what does Chetan Bhagat do. He logs into his twitter account and makes a faux pass. He asks the Twitterati “What do historians do? I am genuinely curious. This happened. Then this happened. Then this. Ok work done for the day.”

And we know Twitterati. They can’t let go of a question of this stupid magnitude unanswered. They responded and what happened was awesome. Such funny, hilarious and mind blowing tweets came out from everywhere that will make you go #ROFL and #LOL. Here I reproduce some of the most hilarious tweets of them all that (actually I am not sure) would have made Chetan feel sorry for the slip.

Twitter responded with a huge resounding crack and came down on the author for his failed attempt at being funny.

It of course ended up becoming a recurring theme among Twitterati.

Today’s Twitter fight followed a similar script. After a firestorm of tweets, Bhagat tried to backtrack and  issued this clarification.

It appears Chetan quickly got his answer on Twitter about what historian do. That’s the power od #SocialMedia you see. You can’t get away with your stupidity 🙂

I must say that the last nail on the coffin is this tweet:

On this boring day, something which made me laugh like crazy. Well Twitter has its own reward 🙂 Did you enjoy this? Do let me know!
